Uncle Tim Part 1

Two weeks ago, Uncle Tim moved to Japan. We got to see quite a bit of him before he left. He came and spent almost two weeks with us!! We talked to him on the phone tonight. It was great to hear him! We all miss him a lot, but are excited about what God has for him in Japan.......maybe even a wife!!
Uncle Tim ALWAYS has time for his nieces and nephews. Playing games, making up stories, watching movies, reading out loud, talking about nonsense, and giving "avuncular" wisdom.
He even let Jonathon cut his hair last summer in Colorado!! A fearless man.......

More to come!!

Happy Birthday Hannah!

Hannah turned 4 years old on last Wednesday. She had been eagerly looking forward to the day!! As soon as she woke up on Wednesday, she went straight to my closet where I had hidden a present that David and Jonathon got her. She wasted no time in looking for it and finding it! It did keep her occupied and happy since the real birthday fun wasn't going to happen till Todd and Ben got home from work.
Hannah got a huge Dora house complete with lots of furniture and stuff to go with it. She was quite a happy girlie!!
During the day, Rachel and Hannah made the birthday cake......lots of pink icing and sprinkles!
Hannah, we are so thankful for you!!! You are such a great blessing to all of us. You are such a busy little girl who keeps us on our toes. We just couldn't do without you!!!!

The British are Coming!!!

This week, David and Jonathon have been participating in the CLS History Camp. The focus of this camp has been the American Revolution. We have just finished watching the mini series John Adams and the boys have recently spent time in Colonial Williamsburg.....so they were eager for camp!!
Mr. Bronson worked tirelessly with these young men.....teaching them how to march, how to load and fire a musket, and how to use a bayonet. He also instructed them in biblical principles, such as humility, diligence, submission, and fighting the good fight of faith. There were many history lessons from the American Revolution as well. The boys came home everyday sweaty, tired, and worn out. But they always had many stories to tell us.
Jonathon and his good buddy Michael.

Last night, there was a program for the parents. We all brought picnics and sat and listened to Major Bronson speak on His Excellency, General Washington. Then we watched the soldiers perform military drills. At the end of the program there was a battle.
Private David Keeler, who became a "Sargent of the Day" was able to fire a real musket.
Private Jonathon Keeler of His Majesty's Army.
Ready to take on the Continentals!
Let the battle begin! David and Jonathon are fighting to the right. After a hard fought battle, the British finally surrendered.

After the program finished, the boys had an encampment. They slept under the stars!

David and Jonathon had such a great week. They are already looking forward to next summer.....the Civil War!

What a great week this was for the boys! They are ready for next summer........the Civil War!
