Todd's parents and Tim came up for Spring Break. They got here on Friday and we just spent the weekend relaxing and catching up. Sunday we celebrated Easter together. On Monday, Eloise and I took the Metro to Bethesda so we could check out a great yarn shop. We both got some great yarn! We ate lunch at Uno's, then came home, made coffee and tea and knitted......great fun!!
On Tuesday, we headed north to Gettysburg. We were amazed at how big it was! So much history is there! We could have spent a couple of days there. We saw the cemetary where many of the soldiers were buried and also the place where President Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address. We also drove around part of the battlefield and saw many monuments in honor of the fallen soldiers.
After we left Gettysburg, we drove over to Lancanster County, PA to Amish country. We ate a very late lunch at Plain and Fancy, an Amish restaurant. After lunch we drove to see Don and Paula Zeiset and their kids at their new house! We met them several years ago when they lived in Colorado. They just recently moved back to Pennsylvania. It was great to see them! Don, Paula, and kids, thanks so much for your wonderful hospitality and great food! We'll do it again!!
So far the rest of the break has been spent playing disc golf, shopping, basketball, tuning a piano, eating(!), drinking lots and lots of tea and coffee, watching movies, and knitting (not everyone participates in every activity!!). We've had a great time!!

Happy Spring!!!
Notice who the homeschooler is in this picture???
The Long Winter is finally over!!! I normally love winter(especially here where it gets really cold and snowy!), but this year we did not have nearly enough snow. We also had many gray days, and lots of sickness. So we were all ready to send this winter packing! Even though temps are still rather cool outside, spring is definitely in the air. We started the First Day of Spring off with a party at breakfast. Cinnamon rolls made into bunnies, and fruity Cheerios.
The in-laws are on their way to see us right now!! We are excited!!!

Winter's Last Hurrah
We sent winter out with a bang today! David's class went ice skating in honor of his teacher's birthday. So Rachel, Hannah, and I tagged along. Hannah had never been on skates before and I haven't been on them in ages, so I thought that wouldn't be a good combination. Rachel very patiently helped her little sister. Hannah also spent a lot of time hugging the wall. But she was very determined and kept gaining in confidence. It was a fun way to spend the afternoon.
Time for Spring!!!

Fun, Fun Weekend!!
We had such a great weekend! Marti, Sarah, Ben, Sam, and sweet little Amy all came for a visit. Tim had to work all weekend. Marti and I went out on Saturday to my favorite restaurant....California Pizza Kitchen. We left Todd home with 9 children ranging in ages from 6 months to 15 years old. What a GREAT husband!!!! Thank you Honey! I am so thankful for these precious friends and for the fact that they live only 3 hours away.
Marti and kiddos, thank you so much for coming to see us. You all are tremendous blessings to our family and we love you all very much.
